Anna Riess is an artist living and working in Vienna.
After a short stint of studying architecture, followed by a masters in Cultural Anthropology in 2012, Anna began focusing on her true delight of creating with her hands. Through a three-year course in contemporary jewelry design, Anna got to play with and express her critiques of society through forming objects in close relationship to the human body.

Besides works from clay and textile, Anna loves to extend the possibilities of shapes and materials when making jewelry objects.

Over the last years Anna Riess discovered the calming potenial of the material clay and has developed a process oriented concept called ‘Circle of Clay’ where strangers come together to express their feelings while forming clay.

Furthermore she cofounded a retreat called ‘Clayground’.
